The 23rd Annual Bridge School Benefit will feature Neil Young and many other notable artists including Jimmy Buffett.  Read the article at examiner.com.  The mission of The Bridge School is to ensure that individuals with severe speech and physical impairments achieve full participation in their communities.  The benefit will occur on October 24th and 25th at Shoreline Amphitheatre in California.  Jimmy Buffett is scheduled to play on Saturday and I am sure he would appreciate a Parrothead follow to join in the festivities and to bring an energy only Phans can bring!

Many of you may have caught the CBS special honoring Walter Cronkite earlier this week and seen that Jimmy Buffett was a part of the line-up of contributors.  Click here to read the article.

Jimmy Buffett paid homage to Senator Ted Kennedy during his recent Wednesday night show at the Jones Beach outdoor amphitheatre.  Read the article at the examiner.com.  Jimmy Buffett concluded a song by saying, "Sail on, Teddy" and showing some pictures of the late Kennedy on the screen. 

Jimmy Buffett Parrotheads inspired by music to have a Margaritaville cooking party.  (Click here to read about it)  I suppose if you can not attend a Jimmy Buffett concert why not throw a party to celebrate the music anyway. 

The Williams tennis sisters joined Jimmy Buffett as part owners of the Miami dolphins.  Read about it at The Associated Press.  Who knows maybe this will spark more professional sports teams to sell some of the ownership to celebrities.  It would be quite the oxymoron in Jimmy Buffett owned part of a hockey team, considering the music is like his tour, Summerzcool.

Did you know that August is Tequila month?  Well, if it wasn't for 'Margaritaville' by Jimmy Buffett there may not be a Tequila month.  Maybe not, but Katie Couric of the Today show sure enjoys the song and it made Tequila sales rise in the 70's.  Read the article at the examiner.com.  It has pretty cool youtube.com video from 2001 of Jimmy Buffett performing the song 'Margaritaville'.  (click here to see video) 

In other news, Jimmy Buffett helps write the new Miami Dolphins fight song.  (Read about it here)  According to the article it will be featured with a song by T-Pain and the local rapper, Pitbull.  I think that the promoters are trying to get all generations to have team spirit.  The one will get the kids the other will get the rest of us.  Who over the age of 20 doesn't know 'Magaritaville'?
